Hey everyone, today's topic is some things media has taught me that apply outside of class. So let's get right into it!
The first thing I have learned from media is how to do a lot in a short time. I have learned from media, especially STN, to multitask and do it fast. For example, when I am doing makeup for the school play I help with, I learned how to manage my time and do it as fast as I can while doing the best job I can do. Another example is with schoolwork, I learned that you should always do the easy stuff first, and finish with the hard stuff to make everything a little bit easier.
Another thing I learned is to trust other people. Before media, I would try to do everything myself and secretly be afraid when I work with others that someone will screw it up. I know have an easier time trusting others, such as group projects in other classes. But I also learned you have to know that they will do a good job, and help them along the way, and to accept help myself.
The third thing I learned in class that helped with life lessons is communication. I have always been an alright speaker, but this class has improved with it. As well as talking on camera, I got better at talking to people I will do stories on and just people I don't know well in general.
Those were some of the life lessons I learned from media, and I continue to learn more every day. Thanks for reading!
Wow! this year went by crazy fast. Which means it's almost time for...Family Night! This week's topic is on the video we will be showing and why.
The video I have chosen to show is my STN edit. The first reason I chose to show it is because it shows clips that students shot and really shows the trip from the Kid's perspective and just how awesome it was.
The next reason I will be showing it is because I really improved from last year's edit. This time its easier to follow along and has better editing and music, as well as story dimensions. While last year it did not and was pretty boring.
The third reason I will show it is because of the excitement that it may bring. I hope everyone gets excited to see themselves and laugh at the funny parts. I hope everyone enjoys it.
Those were the three reasons I will show my 2018 STN edit. Thanks for reading!
Hey everyone! This week's blog topic is about the highlights of the STN trip!
My first highlight was winning crazy 8's news. It was so unexpected and I am so happy I gave up my spot on film as it worked out for the better. I was so excited to see Janine and myself on the huge screens they had and all of Hawaii screaming and chanting.
My second highlight was ice skating of course! Even though it was a challenge I had a blast with my friends on the ice. I was shocked at how good Abby was at skating, she was gliding across the ice while the rest of us were wobbling like deer. It was also funny when Keith went super fast along the sides and kept crashing into the wall. I was able to get off the sides and spend most of the time in the center, and worked really hard not to fall down at all because I am terrified of slipping, luckily I didn't fall down but was super scared when I came close.
My third STN highlight was S-N-O-W-! it was so fun playing the first morning of it even though everyone looked at us all weird as their dogs peed in it. But I loved throwing snowballs at people and building snowmen. Even though I have seen it before, it is still so thrilling and I was even able to get some beautiful pictures of it.
So those were my awesome STN highlights. Thanks for reading!
Hey everyone! I haven't blogged in a while. Today's topic is my goals for this quarter, so let's get into it!
The first goal is to get my blogs done, mainly because i've been so busy and forget to do them. My goal is to get them all finished on time and well done. I want to do this so i'm not stressed about it. Also so I can better my grade.
My second goal is to do a good PSA, last year, all my actors didnt show and I ended up filming the day before it was due. It didn't turn out as well as I would want. This year I have a solid idea and want to execute it well. Also this year my PSA wont need any actors so I wont have people not showing up again.
My third goal is to get things done for 8th grade slideshow. I already took a lot of pictures and today I am going to record voiceovers for it. Next year I don't want to be on a team of procrastinators so we are starting early and we already have a lot of stuff.
Anyways, those were my goals for this quarter, thanks for reading!
Bonus-I actually exported the wrong clip and didn't realize, so before it was just a video of me jumping off the couch, hot mess moment huh?
Hey guys! This week is a free blog! So what I'm going to talk about is the Summer! YAAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!! I get to take a break from school! Do media camp! and do Art camp! But the downside is that I'm going to miss the eighth graders and they are going to high school and leaving us behind. I'm really gonna miss Taylor and Napua the most because I want to be like them in eighth grade and they are really nice to me.
Hey peoples! Today's blog will be about the lessons I learned in media, so pretty much, the three big things were do not procrastinate, compromise is better than arguing, and do your best at everything.
The first lesson I learned was NOT TO PROCRASTINATE!!! This was probably the most important because deadlines are deadlines and you cannot change them, my advice for next year's newbies is to do everything asap, and if it doesn't work, make it work, because the only person responsible for your grade is you and grades are valuable.
The second lesson I learned was that compromise is better than arguing, I think this matters because other's ideas matter also! just because you think your idea is awesome and theirs sucks, they might feel the same towards you, and arguing gets you nowhere and turns out compromise can be better than a single idea.
The third lesson is to do your best at everything, this is an important guideline to follow because especially if your on a team, your teammates NEED you, or else you would not be on that team, and with your own work as well, because again, the only person responsible for your grade is you and grades are valuable.
So pretty much, the three big things I learned were do not procrastinate, compromise is better than arguing, and do your best at everything.
Hey readers! This week's blog topic is about which family night video we are showing and why we chose this video. So the video I chose was Going back to Cali, which is also our Crazy 8's practice, the reasons I chose this one is because 1. Its really funny 2. We had a great experience and practice while doing it and 3. It was a good video
My first reason was it was really funny, for example, we had a story with a big plot twist that made everyone seem stupid, also we had scenes where we did horrible makeup, smashing ice cream in Asia's face, and a fail at hide-in-seek
My second reason for why I chose it for family night was that we had a fun and awesome time filming it, and we thought it a great practice for competition. We all got along, and we were able to make the deadline.
My third reason is that I believe it was a great video, I liked how our shots were nice, and our story worked and turned out great. Like especially in the first scene we had great lighting and a good ozmo shot.
In conclusion, I chose Going Back to Cali because Its really funny, We had a great experience and practice while doing it and, It was a good video. Thanks for reading!
